You live in a room in college which you share with another student. However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it very difficult to work. Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In the letter, • describe the situation • explain your problems and why it is difficult to work • say what kind of accommodation you would prefer

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to you to convey my displeasure regarding my current boarding arrangements, and to request your assistance in changing the same. I live in a shared room with a fellow graduate student from the University of Alberta. At the beginning of the school term, he was assigned to live in the same room as me, through a randomized process.
However
, my roommate plays loud music late at night and often has friends over. The loud noise is extremely distracting for me because I am unable to focus on my studies.
This
problem is exacerbated by the fact that our annual exams are approaching. Even though I have made several requests to him, they have fallen on deaf ears. I have even purchased noise-cancelling headphones, but they are not sufficient for blocking all noise. I would like to request your assistance in the matter by either allocating a single room to me or letting me share rooms with someone else who is more academically oriented than my present roommate. I look forward to hearing back from you at the earliest. Yours faithfully, Dhruv Mullick
