Dear Sir or Madam, Hello, I am writing
this
letter to apply for the position of helper that you have posted in the newspaper the Herald recently. I went through the advertisement that you uploaded a poster on your website
that is
held with Kimmy as a famous artist in the world.
Also
, I am a huge fan of his since I was a child. So, I am so glad to see him in person through
this
chance. The reason why I am a suitable person for your museum is that I am talented to speak two kinds of languages like English and Chinese. I heard about all tickets being sold out already before starting the exhibition.
In addition
, most people who bought a ticket are foreign tourists from England, China, the USA, and Australia. I am available to work on Fridays and weekends from 10 am to 3 pm. Thank you for providing a chance to work with Kimmy to everyone no matter their age. I hope I am getting a reply from you as soon as possible. Faithfully, Lio

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
