Universities should provide students with the skills they will require in order to succeed at their future jobs. How far do you agree ar disagree with the above opinion?

Nowadays, it is believed that
universities
should provide
students
with special
skills
so that they can succeed in their
career

. I strongly agree with
this
agreement but
also
I believe that it is the role of the student to get the extra
skills
. In
this
essay, I will elaborate on the two points.
Firstly
, all
universities
will deliver academic materials to all
students
.
However
, it is not only the theoretical areas which are the most important in the working place. Today, employees are looking for candidates who have tactical
skills
, who are quick at decision making and most of all, who are looking for
students
who have good communication and presentation
skills
.
Besides
, I believe that above the teaching sessions,
universities
should prepare the
students
to face the real working environment. Often, young graduates when they are being interviewed, it is clearly demonstrated that they have the fear of speaking. So, I believe that interview
skills
should be an additional module that should be added in the
last
year of a student at university.
Moreover
, presentation
skills
which are actually delivered at university are too basic and I believe that
this
module should be more advanced as today, in the working field, young recruits have issues communicating and presenting their work. Inadvertently, I believe that campuses are not solely the ones to put efforts into providing the required
skills
to a student.
Students
have
also
the responsibility to develop the required
skills
by themselves. They have to make research and work towards their individual development which is required in the working area.
In addition
, good manners and politeness are
also
qualities that employers are looking for. So these qualities are not taught at tertiary institutions, but rather at home and as individual development. In conclusion, I believe that
universities
should change and focus on the extra
skills
that young graduates should have when they reach the working sphere. But, I
also
believe that
students
should
also
work on their individual development to face the challenging working world.
