Some people agree with spending lots of money on a large wedding, while others think it is a waste of money. What is your opinion ?

A wedding is an important milestone in an Individual’s life.
However
, it is argued about the amount of funds allocated in a wedding. Some people prefer spending large amounts of
money
 in their wedding,
while
 some oppose, and are in the view that it is a waste of funds.
This
 essay will outline the two views followed by my opinion. On the one hand, Elite individuals in a society spend a lot of
money
 on their wedding, because of the popularity and media publicity. It is one way to express and elevate their social status in society. In certain circumstances, they borrow
money
 and conduct a grand wedding, but trapping themselves in a huge debt for a longer period.
Moreover
, certain people spend a substantial amount of cash, in order to align with their traditional customs. For an example:- I went to my friend’s wedding, and exchanged few words. He mentioned to me that he had spent INR 3 Crore in his wedding, as he had to maintain social status, because he was a well known public figure.
On the other hand
, there is a part of the community, that thinks spending too much wealth in a wedding is a waste. They are more concerned with reducing the costs and investing the savings, so that attractive monetary returns can be expected in future. They believe that
money
 should be spent with the basic necessities in a wedding,
such
 as religious ceremony activities, the rings etc., and not much on the wedding party or at an expensive location. For an instance:- I went to my cousin’s wedding, she had planned her entire wedding with a reasonable budget. She has reduced the food variety offered to the guest, which helped her to reduce the cost substantially,
as well as
 reduce the food wastage. In my opinion, a wedding is an important activity in a couple’s life journey, but the amount spent should be in a reasonable budget, and spending too much will be a waste. The size of the budget depends on your affordability, and should be made from your accessible resources. It should not be made from borrowing funds from a third party.
