Tourism is growing in many parts of the world, particularly in developing countries. To what extent does this trend benefit the countries and their people? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words.

To sustain their economies, countries need to focus on a diverse range of industries, including agriculture, fishing, and manufacturing. Among these sectors,
tourism
stands out as a significant contributor to a country's income. From my perspective,
this
trend has more advantages than drawbacks in three key areas.
Firstly
, the expansion of the
tourism
industry presents opportunities to reduce unemployment rates, particularly in developing countries.
For instance
, Singapore successfully revitalized its economy by introducing recreational attractions like casinos, which attract a large number of foreign visitors, and the iconic luxury hotel known as Marina Bay Sands.
Secondly
, compared to other industries,
tourism
can thrive even if a country lacks abundant arable land or a vast expanse of coastline. Governments can focus on developing the
tourism
sector by highlighting unique features and differentiating themselves from other destinations. Monaco, the second smallest country in the world, has excelled in
this
regard by preserving its residential areas' distinctive white-coloured walls.
Finally
,
tourism
has the potential to preserve cultural and natural resources that may have been lost during times of conflict. During World War II, when the United States targeted several Japanese cities, Kyoto was deliberately spared to protect its beautiful scenery and historic temples.
As a result
, visitors can still witness the city's traditional temples today. In conclusion, as demonstrated by the examples mentioned, investing in
tourism
can yield various benefits,
such
as employment opportunities and the preservation of natural landscapes and cultural heritage.
In addition
, developing countries will receive more benefits because of the ease of implementation.
