Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

The issue of whether people have too many
choices
recently has come under the spotlight and there is a wide spectrum of opinions on
this
discussion. I totally agree with the idea that we have too many
choices
nowadays. There is no shortage of reasons for my stance. Of all the reasons why we have too many
choices
, the foremost reason is that we have too much
information
to be received, which turns to how hard to differentiate the true
information
is. It is known that technology has rapidly developed, and we can choose various channels to get
information
. On one hand, it may aid in the convenience of our daily life.
On the other hand
, it may help to spread non-trustable
information
spread widely. A content farm is a prime example of
this
phenomenon. Content Farm is a website that contains exaggerated
information
, and some false
information
is included. If we find the
information
on
this
kind of website, we would get false
information
, for ,instance fake news.
Hence
, too much
information
that we received intend to the false content we get and notice. It should
also
be noted that we have too many
choices
of
entertainment
, which lower our ability of attention. As we are dipped into the era of
entertainment
, we have lots of
media
for
entertainment
, for ,example social
media
, online games, and
media
platforms. It is too many
choices
to distract our attention from our studies or work.
For example
, we are easier to fall on mobile phones, chat with friends or social
media
when we are studying or working.
Therefore
, we may lose attention
due to
too many
choices
of
entertainment
. Under
this
line of thinking, since we are surrounded by technology and
entertainment
, we are hard to know the truth and even easily be distracted by
this
information
or
entertainment
. In
this
way, we should find a way to know how to have a good one among these various
choices
.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
