The graph gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030
The line graph presents data from a study in 2008 about the usage of six sources of electricity in the United States of America since the year 2980 with predictions until 2030.It is measured in a quadrillion.
To start with,in 1980,the consumption of petrol and oil was highly significant at 35Q.It
thereafter
fluctuated throughout the space of eight years and it is expected that it will reach a peak in 2030 at 48 quadrillions.Similarly
,the amount of coal used in 1980 was just above 15 quadrillion,it also
had an unstable trend till 2020 when it rose to 20Q.It is projected that it will attain a plateau in 2030 at 30 quadrillion. In the same manner, the usage of natural gas was at 20 in 1980,it experienced an erratic movement till 2015.It is presumed that it will even out in 2030 to just above 20Q.
On the other hand
, nuclear, solar wind and hydropower energy were consumed at the same rate in 1980 at around 4Q.The three sources of electricity were equally applied till 2010 when nuclear and solar wind levelled up slightly while
hydropower flattened out .They are projected to maintain these trends till 2030.
Overall
,it can be seen that petrol and oil were the hugely used over the given period while
hydropower was the least.However
, the consumption of all the means of energy was not stable.Submitted by thomolaitan30 on
