is allocated to heating. Cooling,

, has not only the lowest usage of

results in the smallest segment of

greenhouse

gas emissions. The

which is used for water heating results in the highest share of

greenhouse

gasses. As illustrated by the first graph, accounting for 42% of total

energy

use, heating is the most crucial purpose of using

energy

. The figure for water heating stands at 30%, which is twice the number for other appliances. Refrigeration, lighting, and cooling comprise only small portions of 7%, 4%, and 2%, respectively.

By contrast

, the

energy

which is used for water heating induces the highest emission of

greenhouse

gasses, at 32%. The figure for other appliances is 28%, which is approximately two-fold the number for heating (15%) and refrigerating (14%) and is higher by 20% than the portion for lightning. The number for cooling is negligible, at 3%.
