The line graph illustrates how many people played 4 different types of sports in one region from 1985 to 2005.
Overall
,
it is clear that
rugby experienced a huge downward trend
whereas
the opposite was true for tennis. It is
also
worth noting that the figures for the remaining sports were much more stable, with badminton being the least popular. In 1985, rugby had a total of 250 participants which was the highest among those examined, compared to 150 for tennis at the same time.
However
, it witnessed a rapid decline to reach the lowest point of 50 by 2005,
while
tennis rose steadily by approximately 70 to 220 and became the most popular sport in that year. Regarding basketball and badminton, the number of people taking part in those was 80 and 55 in 1985 respectively.
Although
the basketballers' number underwent a slight oscillation in the next 20 years, it remained unchanged at the initial value
at the end
of the period. There was a relatively similar change in the badminton data but it dropped minimally to 50 in 2005.
