 living in each home in the United Kingdom between 1981 and 2001.
Overall
, in both periods there was a similar tendency in which just a little number of residences were occupied by many
people
whereas
 the majority of the
homes
 were occupied by 3 or less than 3
people
.
In addition

, it can be seen a considerable increase in the number of
homes
 occupied by 2 and 1 person respectively in 2001. To start with, in 1981, 6
homes
 were occupied by 6

 only 8 were occupied by 5. There was

 were inhabited by only 1 person.
