The images illustrate the differences between three separate types of bridges.
It is clear that
 each structure is different in terms of the height and the use of
piers
.
Besides
, they are designed to suit specific areas
such
 as lakes, rivers or seas. As can be seen, the arch bridge, which is similar to the name given, is formed in a curved shape in lakes. The length and the height of it are usually no more than 200m and 100m respectively,
therefore
, only small ships can commute through it. Another larger one is called the concrete girder bridge, it is erected by
piers
 in the riverbed which are about 300m high and 200m far from each other. It allows bigger ships to travel.
Moreover
, the span of it is unlimited depending on the number of
piers

By contrast
, the suspension, the largest of all, is built to cross the sea as the construction of a system of numerous cables
together with
 two huge
piers
 which are 400-2000m in distance to support the bridge. The depth is extremely high so that large-size transports can go back and forth.
