You live in a room in college which you share with another student. However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it very difficult to work. Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In the letter, • describe the situation • explain your problems and why it is difficult to work • say what kind of accommodation you would prefer

Dear Sir or Madam, I hope
this
letter finds you well. I am writing to let you know about my difficulties living in my current accommodation. The problem started when my current roommate moved in
last
month. He has no regard for other people. He plays unbearably loud music all night I barely can sleep. I asked him several times to stop it,
however

he dismissed all my requests saying
this
is the way he is. It has been so uncomfortable, to say the least. I have classes starting early morning,
therefore
I need to wake up early.
Due to
the loud music on all night in the next room, I haven't been sleeping properly , making me sleepy and drowsy the whole day.
This
has severely deteriorated my health
as well as
my academic performance. Can you please relocate me to any other room? I would like a roommate who is quiet and respectful of other people.
Although
I don't mind occasional music or some noises in the daytime, I can't bear it at night so I can sleep peacefully. I request you to look into
this
matter as soon as possible. Thank you for your time and consideration. Yours faithfully, Sam Smith

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
