In the future all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless. The only people traveling inside these vehicles will be passengers. Do you think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

The prospect of a future where all
vehicles
are
driverless
is both exciting and daunting.
While
the technology promises numerous benefits, there are
also
potential drawbacks that must be considered. In my opinion, the advantages of
driverless
vehicles
do outweigh the disadvantages, but careful planning and regulation are essential. The advantages of
driverless
vehicles
are manifold.
Firstly
, they have the potential to significantly reduce human error in driving, which is a leading cause of accidents. By utilizing advanced sensors and algorithms, autonomous
vehicles
can react more quickly and accurately to changing road conditions.
Secondly
,
driverless
vehicles
could increase efficiency in transportation, reducing traffic congestion and fuel consumption.
For example
, platooning technology allows
vehicles
to travel closely together, reducing aerodynamic drag and saving fuel.
However
, the transition to a
driverless
future
also
presents challenges. The technology is still in its infancy and must be rigorously tested to ensure safety.
Additionally
, there are legal and ethical considerations,
such
as determining liability in the event of an accident. The displacement of professional drivers could
also
lead to job losses and economic disruption. In conclusion,
while
there are valid concerns about the implementation of
driverless
vehicles
, the potential benefits in terms of safety, efficiency, and environmental impact are compelling. With proper regulation, investment in research, and consideration of social implications,
driverless
vehicles
could revolutionize transportation and contribute positively to society." Your original essay is well-written and addresses the task effectively. The revised version and model answer provide some additional insights and refinements. Keep

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
