Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing

letter in reference to an article written about my longtime school friend, Sir John Elon in the July 10, 2023 edition of your newspaper. As highlighted in the write-up, John was born on the 1st day of January 1970, which is the same exact day that I was born as well and we both grew up in the old town of Muconi, Italy.

This

was the first thing we had in common and we made sure to tell everyone who cared to listen about it. 

Furthermore

, I was elated to read about his educational background which reminded me of our time together in both elementary and high schools - Abbot Elementary and Gladys High Schools.  We tried to keep in touch as much as we could and

lasted for a few years after high school. Unfortunately, we lost contact when he moved to the United States of America (USA) and all efforts to reach him proved abortive. I'd appreciate any help I can get with regard to establishing contact with my dear friend again. If you can share an email address or a phone number that I can reach him on, that would be perfect.
