The three diagrams demonstrate what changes have been made at West Park Secondary School, over a 60-year period, from 1950 to 2010.
Interesting to notice that the main building of the school hasn’t been changed at all,
whereas
surrounding areas have completely changed their purpose of use.
In 1950, we can observe that schools, houses, playgrounds and farmland occupy almost approximately the same size of territories. Turning into details, the playground took the biggest part of the land. Regarding the situation in 1980, houses were replaced with new car parks and a science block. Moreover
, the farmland has been transformed into a sports field. On the last
map we could see that the car park ended up with the biggest part of all the territory as the sports field and playground significantly became smaller in size
Overall
