Dear Sir, I am writing a letter to get assistance from your side regards admission to Green Pines College. I have done my secondary education and want to apply for a degree in your college. The Problem which is forcing me to withdraw from the plan of getting admission to college is my financial condition.
This
time,
due to
heavy rainfall, all the crops were destroyed.
As a result
, my family is unable to pay my admission fee. I have scored good marks in my secondary education, so I just want to know about scholarships and any other method, which will be helpful for me to pay the fee. I have heard that your institution is known for helping needy students in pursuing their studies. I will be grateful to get an email from your side with the solution to my problem. Yours faithfully, Yadwinder Singh

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
