Dear Editor, I want to bring to your kind attention that you have printed a price of incorrect information in an article covering the origins of
Amravati
city in
this
September edition of Economic Times magazine. I spent most of my childhood in
Amravati
which comes under Maharashtra and lived there for 25 years of my early life before moving to Pune. Since I was born in the city. I was always fascinated by the unique past and culture. past is my favourite subject in college I had to teach people about the past. your article is well-researched and beautifully penned,
however
, at the beginning of the second paragraph, information regarding the city's name traced to Europeans calling it
Amravati
is incorrect.
According to
the government record of oral history, people are known as "Amaravati", meaning "abode of the Deathless." I request you amend
this
article and publish the correct information as it undermines the history of the
Amravati
people fellow in Maharashtra. I hope you will immediately take corrective action and will update your story. Regards, Akanksha Tiwari.
