According to
the data, there were five main sectors of expenditures in one household, namely Housing, Transportation, Food
, Healthcare
and Other goods
and services
. In general, we can see that Housing, Other goods
and services
, Food
and Transport were the four biggest contributors to the expense in both regions while
Healthcare
only accounted for a small minority.
In Japanese households, the spending on consumer goods
and other services
took up 29% which was the largest proportion compared with others. Moreover
, the rate of food
expense ranked second with 24% followed by 21% for accommodation whereas
transport made up only 20%. Finally
, the lowest percentage for family expenditure was in the healthcare
sector with just 6%.
In terms of Malaysia, it is clear that
they spent the most on houses which contributed 34% of their budget then
their second highest rate was for Food
at 27%, followed closely by 26% of spending on more goods
and services
. In contrast
, the two smallest proportions were in transport and healthcare
