Dear Mr Brown I am writing
this
to inform you about the
marriage
. My real brother is getting married next month on 25 July. I need almost one week off from 20 July to 27 July as we need to do some organising
such
as inviting our relatives and friends, booking the
marriage
palace and so on.
Moreover
, I need off after the
marriage
so I will be there with family to wrap up all the mess after
marriage
for at least 2 days. As I am a shift supervisor at the restaurant, my colleague, Mandeep can handle my job responsibilities for that week if that will work for you. He has already experience in that and
also
he needs more hours, as he took sick leave
last
month. I would appreciate it if you could approve my vocations and
also
I will need vacation pay. I look forward to hearing from you, Yours sincerely, Sukhpal Singh Gill

coherence cohesion
While the response generally communicates the needed information, more care should be taken to ensure that ideas are presented in a clear and logical sequence. Each paragraph should focus on a single idea to maintain structure and flow.
task achievement
Although the letter informs the recipient of the reason for leave, further elaboration could strengthen the response. Offers a suggestion for covering the work but could explore backup options or transition plans.

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
