All children should be given a free laptop when they start high school. Do you agree or disagree?

It has been stated that high academy
students
should receive a
laptop
for their education without being charged. With the view of former statement, I strongly disagree as it could be waste of money and bring strong distraction in pupils life. To commence with, not all secondary schools are capable of providing
this
facility.
Besides
,it is most difficult in impoverished areas to provide basic needs like a desk, and whiteboard,
not to mention
internet connection and electricity, which are indispensable in using
laptops
.
On the other hand
, some private and prosperous educational institutes are providing free
laptops
to
students
which is not necessary or in vain, as these schools already contain institute computers, which can be used by the school children.
Secondly
, if the
students
have their own
laptops
parents and teachers may face more difficulties in supervising them. Pupils especially those aged 13-16 can easily get distracted,
thus
providing access to entertainment means like a
laptop
cause a detrimental effect on their physical and psychological development.
In addition
, tests and other forms of academic evaluation, if done via the use of a
laptop
can be cheated in an undetectable way.
For instance
, educators may find it more challenging to tell whether the work is done by
students
or with the help of AI software. To recapitulate, it is not necessary to provide
laptops
to secondary
students
as it has many negative consequences on cognitive growth and
also
impairs capabilities.
Therefore
, it is clear the idea of providing a
laptop
at
this
age is not acceptable.

coherence cohesion
It is essential for a high-scoring essay to have well-structured paragraphs each with a clear central idea that is expanded with detailed examples and explanations. Ensure that your essay has a logical flow from one idea to the next, using cohesive devices effectively.
task achievement
To fully respond to the task, your essay should directly answer the question and stay on topic. Make sure to cover all parts of the prompt, offering a clear opinion and explaining your reasoning with specific examples where possible.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
