of Asia has grown from 1970 to 2040. The initial impression is that every four countries
have experienced upward trends and Malaysia has had the highest proportion of population
living in cities.
It is clearly seen from the chart that the percentage of total population

saw an increase between 1970 and 1990. There were notable rises in the rate of people in Malaysia and the Philippines of about 15 % in the same period. Thailand and Indonesia, moreover
