of males and females who participated in the Olympics from 1952 to 2012. Meanwhile, the line graph illustrates the inclining trend of participants
in the same years shown by the bar graph. Overall
, both men and women Olympians
had upward trends which contributed to the trend shown in the line chart. Over the given periods, Male participants
dominated the data and had never been surpassed by female participants

The domination of men happened from the very beginning at 3000 people
in 1924. The number
then
rose consistently to 4500 and 5000 people
in 1952 and 1984. In 2012, male participants
still dominated the data at 6000 people
. Meanwhile, Female Olympians
started with a significant gap which did not seem comparable to Males. There were less than 100 female Olympians
in 1924. The number
went 5 times bigger in the next 28 years at 500 people
then
managed to reach 1500 people
in 1984. In 2012, it had a tremendous increase which made the gap with male participants
closer at just 1200 people
.
With the trend happening to both genders, the total number
of participants
increased from 1924 to 2012. The data started at around 3000 and reached almost 11,000 Olympians
