Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Nowadays, people are more aware of the fact that the labour market is becoming more competitive than ever before. It
therefore
leads to the question of whether or not we should expect children to learn at a younger age, especially a foreign
language
. In
this
essay, I will discuss both views and give out the reasons
as well as
show my opinion on the topic. On the
one
hand, making students learn a
language
other than their mother tongue at an earlier stage of their life can grant them many benefits in later life. A child’s brain tends to study new things at a faster rate compared to that of an adult, and a foreign
language
is no exception.
Hence
, it could make the child to master the
language
with less effort and achieve a higher proficiency. As I just mentioned, the labour market is getting more challenging day by day. By showcasing to the employer that you are influential in
languages
of a wide variety, you will step out from the rest of the applicants and even have an advantage when demanding a higher salary.
On the other hand
, forcing our kids to learn many
languages
at an earlier age can lead to pitfalls. The reasons lie in the nature of humans, no
one
is the same. Some children can be interested in learning a newly introduced
language
,
while
others are not. The process of learning a
language
, as we all know, is extremely complicated. So, it might take up a sufficient amount of resources that can be allocated and used
elsewhere
. The wise choice in
this
case could be letting the child explore their surroundings, and study whatever they want.
In other words
, it should be an option rather than an obligation. From my viewpoint, I do agree that children should be taught new
languages
earlier.
Although
it could be annoying to some, it would be worthwhile at the later stage of their life.
Languages
, from my experience, are the keys to newly distinctive pools of knowledge that

who knows only
one

does not dare to acquire.
