First of all, Sri Lankan New Year
is called Sinhala and Tamil New Year
and it is a very important festival to both Sinhala and Tamil ethnic groups in our country as they celebrate the births of Lord Buddha and Hindu Gods.
These two communities celebrate the New Year
commonly by going to the temple or kovil in the morning. Then
, they invite their family members and loved ones to share a meal at their houses. The food include
