Some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. They say that the only way to increase the recycling is for governments to make it legal requirement. To what extent do you think laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste?

✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
Research has shown that most
people
do not choose recyclable products and
as a result
recycling rates are constantly decreasing. Some
people
support the idea that governments should make recycling a legal requirement. I am one of those
people
and I believe that a
law
for recycling will increase the percentage of recycling.
Firstly
, there are
people
who think that a
law
is not a good way if you want to change a situation and, more specifically, recycling habits. They believe that the problem is deeper and we must teach
people
why they should start to recycle their waste. If they understand how significant is the reason for which they should recycle, it will be easier to make it a way of life. They should be informed about the health, environment and, generally, life consequences of not recycling.
On the other hand
, there are
people
who believe that only a
law
can change these low recycling rates. They claim that
people
do not understand the significance of recycling and if some of them do it, it will be for a certain time and after that, it will happen the same again. I mean that they will not be careful about the environment and health and they will not recycle their waste. A
law
will force
people
to recycle because if they do not, they will be fined.
Thus
they will get used to recycling. In conclusion, I believe that obviously a
law
is the best idea to force someone to do something and, in
this
case, to recycle but I think before that,
people
should learn about cycling and the positive points of
this
. In
this
way,
people
will not only recycle but they will
also
choose recyclable items to protect the environment and life.
Thus
they will adopt more easily with a new
law
which will concern recycling.
