Nowadays people use bicycles less as a form of transport. Why is this the case? What can we do to encourage people to use bicycles more? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from own knowledge or experience.

First bicycle was invented in the 19th century. Up to
this
day it is one of the most popular transports in most of the countries. But nowadays it faces the lack of popularity and, as time goes on,
this
issue continues to grow. There are a lot of possible reasons for
such
a situation. They will be discussed
further
. The first and the main reason is that a bicycle can not compare to a regular car. It can not fulfil the same requirements. People use cars to travel for long distances spending a relative short amount of time.
However
, there are some places in the world where bicycles are quite useful.
For example
, Western Europe. providing cyclists with cycleways. eliminates several problems dividing a road into 3 parts: a driveway, a cycleway and a sidewalk.
This
can be difened as another issue because most of the countries does not have
such
environment for bicycles. Living in several cities across Eastern Europe, I can say that majority of those places do not have cycleways everywhere.
That is
why cyclists face a dilemma: on the one hand, they can drive on the edge of driveways, but they would eventually be cursed by drivers for taking too much space on the road;
on the other hand
, driving on the sidewalk can deal with the issue, though the space is so narrow it would be impossible not to disturb pedestrians. Concluding every thought expressed before, these problems with bicycles can be avoided by renotaving a road infrustructure in some the places so people would use the two-wheeled transports and would drive them in peace.
