‘It is important for foreigners to know something about the history and culture of the country they live in.’ To what extent do you agree or disagree?

✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
There is no denying the fact that a lot of
people
have to live or work in another
country
.
While
it is a commonly held belief that it is crucial for individuals living in a foreign city to know about their culture and history, there is
also
an argument that opposes it. In my opinion, I consider that it is vital to learn the crucial things about the
country
you live in.
To begin
with, there are many benefits to expanding your knowledge, especially in countries.
In other words
, when you visit historical places, your information about them will help you avoid wrong behaviours.
In addition
, with
this
behaviour, the
people
there will
respect
you more and treat you kindly because you
respect
their traditions.
For example
,
according to
a study conducted in Japan,
people
in Japanese society treat foreigners with
respect
, help them in government transactions, and even make friends with them because they have shown
respect
for their culture. Another point to consider, the beauty of life is in travelling, exploring diverse cultures, visiting historical sites, and learning the stories of how
people
lived in the past. It is
also
possible to say that when you travel to different countries and learn about their unique histories, cultures, and ways of life, you gain the ability to communicate and connect with
people
as if you were one of them.
This
can impress others, making them more interested in visiting your
country
, which in turn can boost the economy and expand your circle of friends. In conclusion, despite
people
having different views, I believe that living in another
country
and learning about its history and culture brings many benefits to both the individuals and the home
country
.
