A friend you made while you were studying abroad has written to ask you for help in finding a job in your country. You have heard about a job in a local company that might be suitable for him/her. Write a letter to this friend. In your letter • tell your friend about the job and what sort of work it involves • say why you think the job would be suitable for him/her • explain how to apply for the job

Hello Caro! How've you been? It's been a long time since we
last
talked. I was so happy when I received your message telling me that you're planning to come here, to Uruguay! As you mentioned if I knew about some employment offer, actually, the dental clinic next door to my office is seeking a dental assistant. They need someone with full-time availability. I know how much you love to work in areas related to health, so I believe
this
job would completely suit you.
This
job is
also
perfect for someone sociable like you, it demands a lot of energy, as you are in contact with patients the whole day. It's possible to apply just by clicking on the link I will send you later. You will have to fill out the form and send it, that's all! Super easy! I wish you all the best, hope you get
this
job! Let me know as soon as you have some news. By the way, have you booked the flights? If so, tell me when you will be landing and I may be able to pick you up at the airport. I can't wait to see you! Lots of love, Jim

Task Achievement
The tone is friendly and supportive, which is perfect for this type of letter.

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
