Some people think that intelligence is innate while others believe that we can improve our intelligence through learning. discuss both these views and give your opinion.

✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
Some would argue that the
intelligence
quotient depends on
genes
,
while
others think that you can develop it through doing work. Personally, I agree with the second statement and believe that everyone can improve their
intelligence
by being a hard worker. On the one hand, nowadays a lot of
kids
have great
genes
and show great performance in their childhood. Because, if you have an insane talent, you will show good statistics from childhood. It is obvious that we are a mix of
genes
of our parents or our grandparents.
Furthermore
, the thing which they got with learning, we got it just for free.
For instance
, scientists did an experiment for toddlers of popular
chess
players and for
kids
of people, who did not play
chess
. The baby of
chess
players got all the rules of
chess
in 2 days. The ordinary
kids
on the contrary
did not understand even how to move
chess
figures.
By contrast
, the benefits from great
genes
are nothing, if you do not improve your skills
further
.
On the other hand
, a crowd of people think that if you have great
intelligence
from your childhood it is enough. All talented
kids
in most cases will become average
kids
in the future. Because they did not study
further
.
Moreover
, they will lose to
kids
, who study a lot.
For example
, the continuation of the experiment was insane. The toddler who had great
genes
learned and played
chess
for only 2 hours.
While
an ordinary kid studied and played
chess
for 5 hours in one day. After 6 years scientists compared their performance on the tasks related to
chess
. The kid who did not have
intelligence
from innate won without hesitation. Having weighed everything and mentioned up, we can easily say that hardworking overweight over talent.
Moreover
, talent without hard work will become nothing in the future.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
