, more people were involved in the majority of the sports in 2017, and the most popular type was

in both years. The first point to note is that there was a rise in the figure of adults participating in most of the listed events except for cricket and swimming. Particularly, cricket experienced a significant drop in its participants from 25,000 to less than 10,000 approximately.

On the other hand

, swimming maintained its figure at about 35,000 in 1997 and 2017.
