Many countries now face an economic downturn so it is better for each country to focus on its own problems rather than helping other countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Many
nations
today are facing economic downturns, leading some to believe that
countries
should focus on resolving their own issues rather than assisting other
nations
. In my opinion, I partially disagree with
this
statement, as helping each other fosters stronger international relations and mutual benefits.
To begin
with,
nations
are interconnected through the global exchange of goods and resources. It is nearly impossible for a country to be entirely self-sufficient.
For example
, Dubai is the second-largest producer of oil, and it exports
this
resource to
countries
around the world. These exports not only boost Dubai's economy but
also
support the energy needs of other
nations
.
Furthermore
,
countries
engage in trade, exchanging goods and services through imports and exports. To maintain
this
global network,
nations
must offer assistance to one another in times of crisis.
This
cooperation ensures continued trade and mutual economic benefit.
On the other hand
, helping less developed
countries
,
such
as Bangladesh, without receiving any direct return can deplete a nation's wealth. If a government focuses too much on aiding others
while
neglecting its own domestic issues, it may struggle to address critical internal problems.
For instance
, Canada is providing significant aid to Ukraine for food and shelter, but at the same time, it is facing challenges like overcrowding in regions
such
as New Brunswick.
This
lack of attention to domestic concerns can lead to dissatisfaction among citizens who feel their needs are being overlooked. In conclusion,
while
international cooperation cannot and should not be entirely halted
due to
the exchange of resources and services, governments must strike a balance. Developed
nations
are in a better position to help others and should do so to maintain global peace and stability, but they must
also
prioritize domestic issues to ensure the well-being of their own citizens.
