task response
You start both sides of the topic, but the answer stops too soon. Write a full paragraph for people who think films waste time, and a full paragraph for people who think films help us rest and learn.
task response
Make your own view clear at the end. Say if films are useful or a waste of time, and explain why. Your idea about good purpose needs more detail.
task response
Give simple real examples. For example, a history film can teach about the past, while watching films for many hours can take time from work, study, or family.
coherence and cohesion
Use a clear plan: introduction, one paragraph for the first view, one paragraph for the other view, then your own view and a short ending.
coherence and cohesion
Some ideas are not linked to the question. The parts about black-and-white films, 4K, 8K, and VFX do not show clearly how films help people learn or waste time.
coherence and cohesion
Use simple link words to guide the reader: 'On the one hand', 'For example', 'However', 'On the other hand', and 'In my view'.
task response
You show that you understand there are two different views about watching films.
task response
You give your own first idea: films may have bad sides, but they can be used in a good way.
coherence and cohesion
Your first sentence tries to introduce both sides of the discussion.
coherence and cohesion
The writing has one main topic: films and their purpose.
Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
