The belief that humans have more power than other living organisms has been passed on through many generations over centuries. This is embedded in our attitude that we can deforest, expand our living area and hunt wild animals for pleasure without considering the consequences. One of the main effects is a decline in the number of animal species. This passage aims to discuss the causes and the suggested solutions for this problem.
People have different views about living in high-rise apartment buildings. While some people believe that this can be a lonely experience, others argue that it can create a strong sense of community. In my opinion, living in a high-rise apartment can be either social or lonely depending on how people interact with their neighbours.
In a number of countries, some people think it is exemplary to spend huge amounts of money on building new railway lines for faster transport throughout cities. In contrast, some groups think the money should be used to improve existing public transportation.
In many parts of the world, marriage is no longer something women consider essential. This is often attributed to their ability to support themselves financially, meaning they no longer depend on a husband for security. I agree that fewer women are choosing to marry, but I believe loneliness and the difficulty of finding a suitable partner are the stronger reasons.
Some people believe that teenagers should study all school subjects equally, while others argue that they should focus mainly on the subjects they are good at or interested in. Although studying a wide range of subjects can provide students with general knowledge, I believe that teenagers should have the opportunity to concentrate more on the subjects that match their abilities and interests.
Some people argue that shops should not sell junk food or energy drinks, which are linked to diabetes and high blood pressure. As a result, these products can contribute to serious illness and long-term disability. I half agree with this statement, because such food causes health problems when eaten regularly.
Nowadays, it is clear that many universities' undergraduate courses have the option to study abroad or the choice to do a work placement. In my opinion, the advantages of these are relevant , and every student should have the opportunity and the chance to carry out their studies abroad.
Some people believe that participating in team sports, such as football, is more beneficial, while others argue that individual sports, such as tennis or swimming, offer greater advantages. Although both types of sport have their own benefits, I believe that the best choice depends largely on a person's interests, abilities and personality.
Some people state that the best way to reduce traffic jams is to invest in public transport, whereas others suggest there are some better alternatives. Although it may not be the only effective solution, I believe that investing in public transport is one of the best ways to reduce traffic congestion. This approach will not only reduce the number of cars but also allow us to make the most of roads.
It is often argued that dangerous extreme sports, such as skydiving and rock climbing, should be banned. However, I personally disagree with this view because people should have the freedom to participate in activities of their choice and the risks can be reduced through strict safety regulations.
It is becoming increasingly common for companies to monitor employees' activities while they are working, including their use of computers and communication systems. Although this practice has some disadvantages, I believe that its advantages are considerably greater because it can improve workplace productivity and help companies maintain security.
It is often argued that governments should spend more money preventing common illnesses than treating people after they become sick. However, I personally agree with this view because prevention can reduce the risk of health problems and reduce pressure on healthcare services.
It is often claimed that language learners should also study the traditions and daily habits of native speakers. I disagree, since most learners study a language for a specific purpose such as work or an examination, and cultural knowledge is not necessary for that goal.
It is often argued that manufacturers should be legally required to make products that can be repaired easily instead of encouraging consumers to replace them. However, I personally agree with this view because it can reduce environmental waste and help conserve natural resources.
It is often argued that modern cities should be designed to encourage people to spend more time together in shared public spaces rather than focusing mainly on private housing and commercial buildings. However, I personally agree with this view because public spaces can strengthen community relationships and improve people's quality of life.
It is often argued that children should be taught to manage their own use of digital devices rather than having strict limits imposed by their parents. However, I personally agree with this view because it can develop children's self-control and help them become more responsible.
It is often argued that schools and workplaces should allow people to make mistakes without serious consequences because failure is an important part of learning. However, I personally agree with this view because it can develop problem-solving and independent thinking and increase people's confidence and motivation.
It is often argued that governments should give healthcare the highest priority, while others believe that education is more important when spending taxpayers’ money. Both views have some valid arguments and can be supported for different reasons. However, I personally believe that healthcare should receive greater priority because it improves physical health and enhances people’s quality of life.
It is an ongoing debate that most consider that protecting fauna is crucial, while others' opinions are that only some types of animals deserve protection. Although government bodies should preserve special animals because of limited resources, I believe that all animals in wild life have their own significant roles to maintain balance in the environment.
The area on which the government spends its money is a highly controversial issue. Many people argue that the funds should be allocated towards public transport development, while others opine that it ought to be spent on building new roads. Personally, I strongly agree with the former statement. The three reasons are that public transport can cut traffic, lower air harm and help people who cannot buy a car, making it justifiable to spend more on it rather than constructing new roads.
