One of the widely discussed issues nowadays is the changing role of women in society. Now people are beginning to realize that marriage is no longer the only way for women to achieve stability. Personally, I tend to think that financial independence is one of the key reasons, but not the only factor. Firstly, it is well known that women today have more opportunities to work and build successful careers. What I mean here is that many women can support themselves without depending on a husband’s salary. A good case in point is modern Europe, where a high percentage of women continue living alone even when they reach their thirties, because they feel confident in their own income. In addition, women may prefer to travel or focus on education when they finish their studies, rather than getting married immediately.
