There is an increasing trend around the world to have a small family rather than a large family. What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a small family rather than a large family?

In the year of 1122 B.C., Eleanor of Aquitaine was born into a royal family. Her father was William X who was, in fact, Duke Aquitaine and count of Poitiers. She was in leadership roles, even as a child and was crowned the Duchess of Aquitaine, to later take the title, queen consort of France and England as well, making her wanted by many men around at the time. Aquitaine was a region in France and was the richest and biggest of them all. Eleanor was not alike most women of her time, not only did she earn the respect of many people but she
also
had a good education. In 1137, Eleanor married Louis VI of France and had two children, Alix of France and Marie of France. She divorced him in 1152 and married Henry II of England in the same year, having eight more children; William IX, Count of Poitiers; Henry the Young King; Matilda, Duchess of Saxony and of Bavaria; Richard I of England; Geoffrey II, Duke of Brittany; Eleanor, Queen of Castile; Joan, Queen of Sicily and John of England. Eleanor of Aquitaine was the mother and grandmother of many important people in history, which is why some
also
called her the ‘grandmother of Europe’ and another one of the many reasons of her well-known name.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
