In the past lectures were the traditional method of teaching large numbers of students. Nowadays new technology is increasingly being used to teach students. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this new approach?

As we move into the twenty-
first
century and with the advancement in
technology
, all of aspects of life are influenced by
this
case and education is no exception. Indeed, in some educational centres, traditional form of training have been revolutionized by new
technology
to some extent that the lecture is no longer the main method of education. While there are a variety of merits of a new approach, I personally believe the drawbacks are far more. On the one hand, many commentators justifiably argue that there are advantages to training students through new
technology
.
Firstly
, it is now no longer essential for students to be present in the lecture theatre for their courses. Indeed,
this
form of courses is ideal for people who devote virtually their whole time to work and they can benefit from a flexible class schedule.
In addition
, the distance learning course is suitable and practical for people across the world who find it difficult to take part in
this
course. Another using of
technology
in education is that through training mobile application, tutor and students are able to interact with each other while they are in their location and study at their own pace.
On the other hand
, there are those who subscribe to the view that the new approach has had several drawbacks. They argue that traditional method provides a great opportunity for students that want to have a face-to–face interaction with students and their professor.
Moreover
, all students are not comfortable with using
technology
, even if they are part of the digital native generation. Indeed, they may suffer from their lack of technological skills or they do not have easy access to
technology
tools.
Furthermore
, participating in classrooms gives students a sense of unity and encouragement. In my personal opinion,
although
teaching students through technological method might have some advantages, the disadvantages are more prominent.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
