Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

The world has countries, states, and cities speaking an ample number of languages of different varieties and accents.
Although
it is an added benefit for a person if he has the knowledge of the local
language
he is working at or travelling in, some people feel that these are not the only reasons for
one
to familiarise oneself with foreign languages. In my opinion, I believe that the awareness of non-native languages should not be restricted to a workplace or a travel destination. Admittedly, on the
one
hand, knowing languages of the area we reside in and are employed at is a necessity considering that the modern work culture does not focus at only
one
place or involve employees of just

region.
In other words
, workers of varied languages tend to come together under
one
roof and work together towards a common goal.
Hence
being familiar with foreign languages enhances communication and helps in creating a bond with people of other cultures and traditions.
For example
, IT companies hire people from different regions of the country and most of the time

On the other hand
, despite mentioning the above points, I believe languages are not limited or learned just for survival. A
language
has the potential of improving an individual's personality to a large extent.
For instance

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
