Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of the society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

The level of morality these days is decreasing. Some people believe that parents are responsible for the proper upbringing of their children while others are of the opinion that the

. Both views have some points which I will discuss below. Parents are the primary
caregiver
and
this
is a major role in the life of a child. They are the
first
people the child recognized and so would trust them easily.
Furthermore
, most children take their parents as role models and would willingly listen and obey their teachings.
For instance
, the male children tend to walk in the steps of their fathers both academically and career-wise.
Finally
, the cultural and religious beliefs towards positive characters can be easily transferred from parents to their offspring.
Conversely
, the opponents of parental role in the moral behaviour of a child argued that the
school
is equipped with human resources,

guiding these children. They help them discover their abilities, support and correct them when necessary.
Secondly
, the environment encourages the children to express their ignorance and make mistakes, after all, it is the best place to find answers and be duly corrected.
Lastly
, the
school
rewards good behaviour by giving better scores, public appraisals and giving accolades.
This
is a means of promoting excellence in learning and character. Overall, to produce responsible individuals, parents and the
school
need to work
synergistically
to guide children on the right path to becoming good citizens.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
