Topic: University education should be free for all students. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
Many students these days like to pursue higher studies, at least once in their students' lives. In
this
Linking Words
context, it is said that universities should provide teaching to all learners free of cost.
However
Linking Words
, I strongly believe universities should charge every beneficiary for the following two reasons. The
first
Linking Words
reason why students have to be charged is, when studies are free, I think they may not take
this
Linking Words
seriously and,
thus
Linking Words
, may not utilise it to the full extent possible.
In other words
Linking Words
, people do not often appreciate the importance of something, including teaching when provided to them without any fee, and
thus
Linking Words
, they may not attend or enrol for those free courses thinking they are of poor quality. University classes,
therefore
Linking Words
, should be charged for at least a few dollars, so that students will feel that those are of not inferior quality and
as a result
Linking Words
, the attendance rates may be improved. The other reason, why money has to be collected from scholars is for the maintenance of academic institutions.
This
Linking Words
is because many of these institutions have to self generate funds for the smooth functioning of their administration. Many educational institutions, which once provided free teaching in the past,
for instance
Linking Words
, were failing to cater enough budget for research and staff salaries because of lack of funds and were closed ultimately.
Hence
Linking Words
, I believe if no one is paying back their institutions in the form of money, it would seriously affect the sustainability of these organisations due to limited finances to run academics. In conclusion, I am of the opinion that the universities should collect money from students, for what they are providing, because it not only does increase the learner's credibility towards the quality of education provided by academies, but it
also
Linking Words
helps to offer financial aid to run them smoothly.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
