Certain individuals consider that governments need to take hold of the vast majority of people’s incomes in order to compensate for essential public services, such as roads and educational institutions. However, others think that high charges are not beneficial in any way. In my opinion, taxes are crucial and improve every aspect of our daily life quality. For instance, repairing roads or improving them, requires an imposing amount of money, so we should be open to contribute with as little as we can. In addition, healthcare or emergency medical services cannot be free, thus, as a society, we should obviously participate financially.

People’s opinions differ as to whether university students need to learn some subjects that will be beneficial in the future or give them the freedom to choose whatever they want to study. This essay attempts to shed light on both perspectives before concluding that I am in favor of the latter notion.
