Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental problems. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Even though it is generally accepted that people cannot live without attaching the importance of environment, there are still some severe environmental problems perplexing them,
such
as the extinction of some animal and plant
species
. Some address importance

this
issue, but it seems to me that other environmental concerns

are
more important. Some opponents of my argument might say that once a certain
species
dies out no matter what kind of animals or plants they are, there will be ripple effects. Take animals

Accept space

who can be the prey of other
species
, as an example. If they become extinct, their predators might have to change their diet and if they cannot, they might have nothing to support his living.
Likewise
, the extinction of a certain
species
of plants can
also
mean that the animals who feed on
this
plant will
also
trap in the shortage of food, which
finally
will impinge on human’s life.
However
,
this
position is untenable, since
inartificial
extinctions of some
species
follow the natural law. Dinosaurs,
for example
, the animal that lived millions of

no longer exist nowadays.
Although
this
cannot be denied that some animals and plants are negatively impacted, there is no evidence to support any negative influence exerted on human beings. Even if
this
is an important issue, it is not the main environmental problem because the biggest
challenge

challenges
people face is global warming, which is the origin of many other environmental issues,
such
as hurricane, flood and fire hazard. The fire in Australia lasting for more than 5 months is a case in point. As global temperature rises, ocean current was affected and
finally
lead to
this
tragedy. Global warming is
also
the contributor to extinctions of animals and plants and
this
is because some of them might lose their habitats. In conclusion,
although
the loss of certain
species
is an important issue that should be paid attention to, in fact, many of the environmental problems stem from global warming, if people think thoroughly.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
