Doing an enjoyable activity with a child can develop better skills and more creativity than reading. To what extent do you agree?

A great number of families ask their children to read every day since they believe that reading helps develop children's literacy and intelligence. While in the recent years, some parents prefer to do interesting activities with their children, as activities like DIY crafts and playing chess are efficient in helping children develop creative thinking. I personally agree with the

idea.
First
of all, reading is a very traditional way to help us gain knowledge. When scanning the books, they can learn a mass of new things that won’t be taught by teachers at school.
For instance

In addition

However
, taking part in

this
action may not be efficient enough as it shows. All in all, the advantages of reading far outweigh the advantages of interesting activities,
thus
I suggest that reading books is a
