Your neighbours have recently written to you to complain about the noise from your house/ flat

✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
Yesterday, I received your complaint letter about the noise issue on
last
Friday.
First
of all, I would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused. I had invited a few of our family friends to celebrate my wife 1st year work anniversary at our home. We had
this
plan in a hurry, so invited only limited people. We started late, which has ended little longer than expected. I understand that
this
would've caused inconvenience to some extent because our kids and friends' children met after a long time, so they were playing around and making noise with no rest. We have tried our best to control them, but we never realised that it could disturb as they were playing in the
last
room which has good insulation of sound. We would like to thank for your understanding and sorry for
this
issue. We will not let
this
happen again, especially late night with kids around. We will always want to be a good relationship with you as a neighbour and we will make arrangements in the future without causing any problems for you with prior notice and acceptance.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
