Government should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement.

Governments investing in railways are more appropriate than on the roads, but I do not agree with the statement. I think that people commute by roads and by
railway
equally according to their convenience and
therefore
I feel that it is essential to invest in both services. While the population is expanding at a rapid pace, people are leaning towards travelling by road rather than by
railway
and
this
has led to subsequent issues. To name a few are; pot holes, poor construction of road, and lack of road safety leading to increased accident rates. For the purpose of illustration, the national highways have been maintained at an appropriate standard as compared to the local highways due to the amount of investiture that occurs. I strongly feel that the government should invest the money on roads in order to address the above mentioned issues.
On the other hand
, there is still a large amount of people who utilize
railway
services especially if they journey far distances. Trains are used for daily commuters as well as for the occasional ones, depending on the purpose of transport and destination.
For example
, some take the
railway
mode of transport to work on a day to day occasion, whereas some families travel by train to visit their native villages. I am of the opinion that the government utilize money for railways in order to maintain the tracks, and prevent accidents as well as to maintain safety of its passengers and hygiene of the trains. Governments can choose to invest money on railways rather than on roads as long as it benefits the people,
