The costs of medical health care are increasing all the time. Governments are finding it difficult to balance the health care budget. Should citizens be totally responsible for their own health costs and take out private health insurance, or is it better to have a comprehensive health care system which provides free health services for all? Discuss your viewpoint on this issue.

A health care system is playing really an important role in the development and growth of a country. It is a key factor for the future and current scenario of the progress of any nation. During current times, some the countries are providing free medical services to the citizens, whereas others are thinking that, it should be an individual’s responsibility to carry private insurance. I am fully agreed with the
second
option and we are going to discuss
this
view in the upcoming paragraphs. ‘Nothing is free in
this
world’,
this
saying is true when it comes to the talk about free health care facilities to people. Many overseas countries are providing free medical services to their citizens,
however
, they are charging higher taxes from their people.
For instance
, in Australia, all the medical facilities are free and provided by government, but the tax ratio is 35% of the total income.
Secondly
, for providing privileged services to inhabitants, a government has to spare
subsequently
more budget compared to other sectors. Due to
this
, they could not be able to focus on various development parts like infrastructure, labour, mining and others.
Thirdly
, at some stage, selected group of civilians is hospitalized to the clinics without any serious health problems.
This
could be the false utilization of resources as well as money. Nowadays, people are earning sufficient amount of salary to take care of ourselves and could afford private insurance policy. Addition to
this
, due to competition between various insurance companies in the market, they are
also
getting a handsome deal even for the fatal disease like cancer, heart surgery and many more. In the conclusion, from my point of view, the governments should provide free medical services to the civilians who are falling under the poverty line and spare the remaining budget for the development of basic infrastructure facilities.
