advertisements lead to a soar in sales figures of enterprises, customers do not always need what they buy. There are some reasons that can shed light on why advertisements have the power to boost sales.
First
, since enterprises offer alluring images in adverts that may sway customers to
purchase
the products being promoted, even when they have no need for them.
This
is reinforced by celebrity endorsements, which creates the trend of buying-craze among the people who want to imitate their idols.
Second
, by exaggerating the functions or nutritions of merchandise on the market, the businesses tempt customers to
purchase
with the belief that those products can make their life better. In fact, people cannot resist the urge to spend for functional food, which may waste money on products that would be a little of value to them. With a barrage of advertisements, people may
purchase
promoted items without the real need for them. Taking a smart-phone as an example. Every year, smartphone enterprises like Apple launch new items with the latest technology
such
as face identification technology. Customers can be seen queuing to buy the new models even though their phone is still in a good condition and does not need replacing. Plenty of evidence suggests that marketing affects the customers'
purchase
decisions: people want to stay up-to-date with the fad, which drives people to spend on unnecessary items. In conclusion,
although
advertisements obviously benefit enterprises in sales figures, some are exaggerated in order to target customers' money, not the real customers' needs. By considering the real needs of themselves, people can make wise decisions for daily spending.
