In today’s hustle and bustle lives,
play an indispensable role regarding its recreational purposes and psychological rewards. With rapid technological advancements, recent centuries have marked the
burgeoning progression in movie industry as
is regarded as the spice of life by many people.
However
, parts of the society still undervalue it as less prominent an
art
form
than other long-lasting ones
such
as literature and painting. While cinema undoubtedly has their own limits, I am still completely opposed to
this
notion.
There
in fact a multitude of reasons for my opposition, but my main argument would be that
film
possesses all the rudimentary characteristics that an
art
form
does.
Firstly
, breathtaking scenes captured by
or created by modern computer-based technology like CGI have aesthetically visual appeals.
Second
, original narrative sequences and storytelling techniques could not only grip audience’s attention, but
also
convey the principal and underlying meanings which add depth to the movies’ plot lines. Pertinent examples are shown in many all-time blockbusters
such
as Pearl Harbour
2019), Godfather
1999) and US
2019). These movies are greatly extolled the world over for their absorbing storylines and cultural as well as historical values.
Last
but not least, sound effects and performances of characters in a
film
are capable of arousing strong feelings inside the viewers. With all of these features,
film
making is even acknowledged as the leading
art
form
in the 21st century. As a matter of fact, young artists are gravitating towards it as a medium of personal perspectives and stories with an eye to attracting widespread publicity.
Opponents of
film
industry point to the heavy reliance on visual effects for the sake of box office at the expense of content involved in the
art
of making movies. Many adaptations prove to be abject failures due to their superficial plots, which could severely damage books and authors’ reputations. They
also
state that the ready availability of scenes blocks rather than stimulates the audience’s imagination. In response to these claims, I would contend that while many
film
adaptations cannot develop the original plots to the fullest extent, they could still be escapism and serve their entertainment purposes.
Also
, there are some exceptions that movies actually surpassed books with masterful storytelling methods from directors and impressive expressions from actors and actresses,
such
as Fight Club and Godfather.
In conclusion,
should not be looked down on as a less important
art
form
because of their unique features, popularity and their recreational purposes.
