I grew up in an environment where children were not properly cared for. In West Africa, where I was born and raised, there are children dying of curable diseases. In
this
century, it was surprising that some diseases can still cause deaths and deformities in the lives of
this
new generation. It’s been a very sad experience growing up seeing younger generations not getting proper health
care
due to improper
care
and poor facilities. It brings me to tears and I have always asked myself questions on how I can fill the gap and provide my own quota to what is lacking and give my own contribution to the young beautiful souls. I chose to pick up
this
role of being a professional nurse for the future generation to provide
care
and support
that
is
Suggestion
are
necessary not only for the Nigerian children but to the rest of the world. I grew my passion to supply the
care
and support
that is
needed for a common child to grow with the basic and equity in mind without any prejudice either you are in America or deepest part of the world where they lack adequate healthcare facilities. I got into the United States with the heart to get trained in
this
field and become a professional to be able to give back to the society and to the lives of the oncoming generation so as to ensure they have the best treatment and are well cared for in terms of health
care
. I joined Concorde career institute where I studied to become a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) so as to be able to pursue my dreams and ambitions. During
this
period, I gathered various experiences from individuals in the field and graduated. I have had about 8 years work experience. I believe it is time to proceed to a higher level in my career by acquiring more knowledge to be able to add more values to nursing field and
also
put my passion to work. I have worked with the elderly and children with different diagnoses ranging from cerebral palsy, pts with a tracheotomy and vent, G-button, diabetics etc. Over the period of time, I have developed more passion, abilities and qualities. I have realized over the years that planning and patience are essential in taking
care
of the sick. A positive feedback from the children and their parents gives me joy and courage to want to do more for them and watch them improve. I cannot wait to achieve my
next
dream with University of Arkansas by pursuing Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
