International tourism has brought enormous benefit to many places. At the same time, there is concern about its impact on local inhabitants and the environment. Do the disadvantages of international tourism outweigh the advantages? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words

“Jobs fill your pocket, but adventures fill your soul” as quoted by Jamie Beatty signifies the explicit need of travelling in today’s hectic work life. Man’s relationship with both man-made and natural environments is complex. Many people think that
this
amazing planet has been exploited more than what it can offer. Tourism is a boon for some countries,

however, at
the same time it has proved to be fatal for its local residents and the place itself. In
this
essay I will show that while tourism has been beneficial for some parts of the world, it had majorly impacted the demographics of that area. Travelling abroad provides a broader perspective to life and
hence
millions of international tourists explore the different parts of the world. In fact, there are few places on earth like Thailand and Vietnam that are solely dependent on tourists, as tourism is their only source of income. People travel to
such
destinations and spent money through which the country’s economy is boosted. It is like a re-criminal activity for the tourist, but bread and butter for
such
nations. The local vendors get to sell their products which are valuable for their living.
Moreover
, travelling bridges the gap between different cultures and communities and
also
provide an insight into a particular place.
That is
the reason, Tourism
also
serves best for educational purposes.
However
, it has been observed, that the increase inflow of tourist visit, have brought may ills of the planet, bombarding it with major sources of pollution. It all begins with littering the place with plastic or other waste materials, to damage the environment with the use of private transport. The result of
such
activities is devastating, impacting the locals and the planet as a whole. To strengthen my point, I would like to quote an example of places like Bali, which is facing major water crisis due to gallons of water being wasted in traveller activities.
In addition
to it, it is
also
imposing threat to aquatic life, bringing ruin to many species.
Thus
, it becomes very important to keep a check on
such
activities and fines should be imposed by Local government, if the rules and regulations are violated for whatsoever reasons. To recapitulate, Tourism definitely generates revenue for the economy of a country, but not at the cost of spoiling the environment. Everybody, no matter a tourist or a traveller should have a sense of responsibility and respect for nature and save it at any cost. Hazards occur in no time but to repair the same, it takes ages.
Therefore
, it’s the duty of all to protect our globe with all integrity, so that in return it can give the best of it back to us.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
