More and more companies are allowing employees to work at home. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

In the contemporary society, there is an increasing number of companies letting employees to finish their jobs at
home
and there is a growing support for
this
trend as it is believed to be beneficial. One obvious plus point of working from
home
is that workers can save a considerable amount of money on commuting and transportation, which offers them the flexibility to arrange their personal schedule according to their life. For most people, it is discouraging to add long traffic time and the cost involved a hectic schedule.
In addition
, employees with flexible working time tend to be more productive than those in a traditional office environment, which turns out to benefit the firms in a long run.
Besides
, workers living in remote areas will benefit greatly from the equality brought by the rise of digital technology era. As most of powerful enterprises are mainly based in capitals or wealthy cities of a country, offering telecommuting options means some gifted individuals who reside in less popular cities can have more opportunities for jobs or even contribute more to the companies.
Last
but not least, another positive feature of working from
home
is that since you do not have colleagues surrounding
,
Accept space
,
you will find yourself developing the skill to find your own answer and become more proactive to find what you need.
Nevertheless
, some people may harbour a concern that staff who have much freedom in their homes may not pay full attention to the tasks they are assigned. Fortunately,
this
potential issue can be addressed by setting productive goals or rewarding a small amount of money to salary. In conclusion,
although
this
option exists some drawbacks, it seems to me that it is favourable for people to work from
home
for the above-mentioned reasons.
